Band Bios and set lists

Hambone Slim ( Guitars, vocals ) After playing drums for many bands over the years Hambone Slim decided it was time to go back to his original love, the guitar. He loves the blues and American roots music so it was a natural that he would pursue that genre. His first band was in 1965 doing Stones and Beatles tunes ( like so many others at that time ) He started as a guitarist and lead singer but found out how hard it was to find a good he decided to play the drums instead. But his heart was always with singing and playing guitar.

Growing up listening to the American Roots greats like Hank Williams, B.B. King, Willie Nelson, Roy Orbison, Ray Charles, Mowtown and Stax and all the great Muscle Shoals artists, along with the British artists like Peter Green, The Beatles, The Stones, Joe Cocker, Van Morrison, Eric Burden and so many others.. he gravitated to bands like The Paul Butterfield Blues Band and James Cotton and Muddy Waters out of the Chicago music scene. Taj Mahal and Keb Mo remain a huge influence.

Hambone Slim brings all of these genres alive at  his shows... done in his own musical style..always with a reverence and respect for their music. Every one of his shows are a loving embrace of the music that came before and a walk through the influence American Blues has all over the world.

Mississippi Mark Miller ( harmonica, percussion ) is a unique voice in the band. He brings his own style taken from the Chicago harp greats.. he blows hard and oh so soft and knows exactly what to play on every tune. Mark is a product of many gigs around the region...sitting in on hundreds of gigs while perfecting his style. He fits in The Blues Dues like a well worn pair of slippers..nice, comfy and one of your favorites that you just love to wear time after time. The Blues Dues would not be the same without his passionate playing.

Harris Taylor ~ ( Lead Guitar, Slide Guitar, Vocals ) brings a wonderful mix of Nashville and big city to his playing. He has many years of performing under his belt and can play many genres. His style is sweet, tangy, twangy, but also smooth and silky when needed. He is the perfect lead guitarist for this band.

Harris brings a sense of humor and playfulness to his performances. He is always looking to add that quintessential lick that makes the tune a memorable one for our audiences.

Super Sam Coffaro ( Stand up Bass and vocals ) is a passionate lover of music and its effect on the soul. His talent level is off the charts along with his energy and showmanship. Sam brings all of that at every show...and his passion is infectious and the audiences love it. His musical ear is amazing.. he can play anything within seconds and understands dynamics and feel better than most stand up bass players. His sound brings The Blues Dues the acoustic feel it was made to sound like. His breadth of music brings another dimension to the band.

Kecia B. ~ ( Keyboards )

Kecia B is new to the Sacramento Blues scene. She has played in various classic rock bands, but her heart sings the blues. Kecia’s influencers include Ray Charles, Otis Spann and Jerry Lee Lewis to name a few.

Kecia has been teaching piano since 2007, and founded her music school in 2010 in Elk Grove, CA. She is currently working towards her Specialist Certificate in keyboard styles at the Berklee College of Music.

Kecia was classically trained in piano as a child and began writing her own contemporary piano music at the age of 14. Her style has been compared to Jim Brickman and Suzanne Ciani. She is currently working on original blues songs and a CD as well. Kecia B has also been a guest vocalist on Alzada and OutPost’s albums.

With Kecia’s outgoing personality, she makes a perfect addition to Blues Dues!
